It's MAGIC!

OK - I am jumping on the "slipcovers made from paint drop cloths" bandwagon. Of course I am hoping for a David Copperfield moment where my circa 1990's jewel-tone print couch will be transformed into something like the Pottery Barn one above!!

I have unearthed my sewing machine. We haven't seen each other in some time. I have minimal sewing skills so according to what I've seen in blogland regarding this project, that should be enough. LOTS of shabby chic drop cloth ideas on Pinterest!

So, in the next week, I hope to tackle this project. I will report back with results! Thanks to famed master planner Robert Simon, houses of all shapes and sizes sit next to one another. Activities come in all stripes too, from an über-urban downtown to 55 miles of bike paths, 52 tennis courts, and 15 pools. Thanks to Reston's growing reputation as a technology hub near Washington Dulles International Airport, major firms have large offices here. Those who do commute to D.C. contend with traffic, but next year's completion of the Washington Metro's extension to Reston will help alleviate the pain.

SWEET DREAMS? WHAT DOES YOUR DREAM BEDROOM LOOK LIKE? I recently gave away our old headboard which was dated and not masterful by any means. So, my search is on for a new bed (headboard / frame / footboard). I am sure that will lead to other projects in the room. The choices are staggering!
